In the Summer of 1502, Leonardo da Vinci Architect Engineers et
General of the "Duca Valentino" Cesare Borgia, arrived in
Romagna in order to design new fortifications. On 6 September in Cesenatico place
that deserved special attention because of its port. In his notebook travel, the
famous Codice L , Leonardo depicts Cesenatico
in two designs: a survey of harbor with annotations and measurements,
with a bird's eye view of a fishing village . Leonardo da Vinci's "transition"
, idealized and mythologized in part, marked the cultural imaginary the country,
and later became one of the fundamental themes of identity of Cesenatico.
